We spend time
with each patient
We have the clinical freedom to spend time with you, address your visual concerns and provide a thorough assessment not only to check your prescription but to monitor for any changes to the health of your eyes.
Our eye exam also screens for Glaucoma, Cataracts, Macular Degeneration and more.
We recommend regular
eye examinations
We recommend a Comprehensive Eye Examination every two years if you are under 65 years old, but can be done more frequently over 65 years old.
Pre-existing eye conditions, such as Macular Degeneration or Diabetic retinopathy, may require more frequent visits.
Some medications can affect the eye and your doctor may require more frequent check-ups. Many heath conditions, for example. diabetes, sarcoidosis can affect your eyes. Also many health conditions including Diabetes, Sarcoidosis and Lupus can require more frequent eye examinations.
If you have any new visual symptoms don’t hesitate to contact the office for advice from our highly trained staff who will arrange the appropriate appointment. Some visual symptoms can be serious while others may be insignificant, but a quick call and some good advice is better than ignoring the symptoms.
We use the Latest Technology
We are passionate about innovation and offer the latest technology to assist in the early detection and management of eye disease including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, cataracts, retinal disease, dry eyes and other conditions.
We offer advanced retinal image technology with retinal photography (Digital Retinal Imaging) and Optical Coherence Tomography.
Digital Retinal Images are high-resolution images taken of the back of the eye to monitor and document changes.
Optical Coherence Tomography is a non-invasive imaging technique used to create an incredibly detailed 3D image of your retina.
It scans all the retinal layers, taking vital structural measurements such as the retinal ganglion cell layer thickness, which is vital in determining early glaucoma changes. It can easily detect bleeding that occurs in wet macular degeneration, which can be missed on less sophisticated equipment
Fundus Autofluorescence
This is a non-invasive method to evaluate the outer layers of the retina, helpful for detecting early stage retinal disorders.
We measure your field of vision using Humphrey Visual Field Analyser which can help detect damage to your visual pathway. This helps to detect not only damage to your eye but to the visual pathway. Field loss can be caused by glaucoma, head trauma, tumours, strokes and any disease that affects the visual pathway.
It is also used to perform Esterman Field tests for driving.
